Rare Fruit Council International (RFCI), Miami meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (FTBG), in Coral Gables, Miami-Dade County.

Meetings consist of a fruit tasting, a seed and plant exchange, and an educational program with guest speakers and slide presentations devoted to tropical pomology.

Members have the opportunity to taste their favorite fruits and desserts of fruits in season at our monthly RFCI Members’ Fruitluck tasting table, prior to the evening’s program at 8:00 pm. JOIN US / MEMBER FORM.

RFCI meetings convene at FTBG’s Burns Science Building in the DiMare Science Village Classroom, beside Wings of the Tropics butterfly exhibit & the Whitman Tropical Fruit Pavilion. Use old south entrance by the Sunken Garden.

Hosted by The Rare Fruit Council International, Inc. (RFCI), Miami in cooperation with the Fruit & Spice Park & the Tropical Fruit & Vegetable Society of Redland.

Members of RFCI Chapters & Florida fruit clubs are welcome to celebrate Bill Whitman’s legacy, and what he contributed to the advancement of pomology through the ‘Kohala’ longan and many other plants. Whitman is one of the founders of The Rare Fruit Council International, Inc. (RFCI) Miami, which was founded on March 11, 1955 as the Rare Fruit Council.
